Something New

I thought I would check out a few new challenges this week. I'm trying spread out when I can work on a challenge and when I can post a blog. Not always an easy task with the schedule we keep around here, but I have loved getting back into my craft room and sharing the cards I've been making so I need to do a bit of rearranged to fit everything in!

I created a card with the Fusion challenge and was happily surprised that they had a joint challenge going on with Case This Sketch. I also threw in the Just Add Ink challenge this week for my color inspiration.

I'm hoping to add a few more posts this week.  We'll see how it goes. Have a great week!!

Happy Monday

Happy Monday, stampers! I played along with the Case this Sketch! challenge this week. I used the new Stampin' Up! Moonlight DSP stack and a few of the 2014-2016 In Colors, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss.

I really like all of the patterns of this little stack, and personally I like that it's already cut small for me. I'm a DSP hoarder. Making that first cut in a 12" x 12" sheet is awful for me. Silly, I know, but (gasp) what if I use it all up and have none. At the rate I use it, that won't happen for a very long time. Maybe I should make a challenge to myself to use more of it!

Have a great day and happy stamping!

Trial and Error

Hello! When you first see a sketch, do you instantly have an idea? Some times that happens., and other times I feel like I pull out a ton of stamp sets and just can't get them to work together. For this week's Freshly Made Sketch, I had an instant idea, and then realized I hadn't gotten the stamp set yet. FAIL! So I had to figure out an alternative solution. Maybe when the set comes in, I'll play with this sketch again!
Enjoy this beautiful day!

It's Official...

I'm in love with the Stampin' Up! Blendabilities. I have already started looking at my entire stamp collection to see how I can color images in new ways with these fantastic markers. It'll take some practice, but seriously this is my first image I colored and I'm hooked.

I got my color scheme from Crazy for Challenges. I used Coastal Cabana, Pumpkin Pie, and Sahara Sand from my SU colors.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Me Time!

I got a box of goodies tonight, and put them to quick use! I'm pretty happy with how quickly this card came together for me. With a full-time job and family responsibilities, I don't get a lot of crafting time. I gave myself a break from the routine and vowed to get a few things accomplished tonight!

I thought the colors at Colour Q were a great choice for one of the Father's Day cards I needed to make, and the new layout at Fab Friday helped put me in the right direction.

Thanks for looking. Have a great night!

Make A Wish

Hello there! I needed a card, and didn't want to just use one in my stash. Do you ever feel like that? I make some cards in bulk that I can use for anybody, but there are certain people you just want to make a special one-of-a-kind card for. For me, it's another way to share my love with them, to say I'm thinking of you.

Using this week's Freshly Made Sketches, I created this birthday card with just the right pop of fresh colors that my daughter loves. I'm hoping she will love the card, too!

Enjoy the rest of this beautiful day!

Making Baby Steps

So this is card number 3 this week, and my space is no longer cluttered and dusty. I'm making progress!   Card challenges seem to always help me when I need some inspiration to create. So in the midst of a activity-packed weekend, I made sure to carve a little time for myself and create. The bonus was one of the family activities was my cousin's baby shower so it was a perfect fit.

I played along with Freshly Made Sketches for this card. Here's the sketch for this week.

I also want to take a moment and thank all of the men and women who have served or serve in our military now. Because of their sacrifices, we live in this free land. Happy Memorial Day!

Love Pushed Me

I haven't had much time for crafting lately. Between winter colds, torn muscles and every other family commitment we've had, I hadn't made a card in months. My stamps had dust on them! It was awful, but this week I pushed myself to make a card for my dear husband. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and I refused to share my love with a store bought card. It would have just been wrong.

I really like how the card turned out. I followed the Fab Friday sketch challenge, but didn't get it linked up in time. Maybe I'll be more organized next week!

Thanks for stopping by.
