New Goodies - FMS 211

As soon as I saw the Freshly Made Sketches this week, I knew I would have to wait for the UPS guy to bring my new stamping goodies. I couldn't wait to use Remarkable You (139894) flowers for the challenge. All in all, I stuck to the sketch quite literally this week, except for my little tag.

I used Night of Navy for my card base for a dramatic backdrop to my Pumpkin Pie flower, and a soft yellow dsp with for the circle. For my tag on the bottom, I used die frame to cut the decorative  edge, and added pearls for a special touch.

Challenging Myself

I'm back, and I've figured out how to add a few more blog features plus I have a new card to share with you. Determined to create my own card creations more often, I decided to play along with a few card challenges, Fab Friday and The Paper Players. Some times it's helpful to have a piece of the puzzle started for you like the colors or a sketch. They can kick start your creativity if you need a little focus.

I liked the sketch challenge at Fab Friday because I have been wanting to try the Out of the Box technique where your stamped image comes outside the edge of shape. I just wish I had let more of them pop out. What can I say it was my first attempt! Next time, there will be more.

And, I can't lie... I'm a sucker for any color combo that has Pool Party so The Paper Players was right up my alley this week. I was the girl who was so excited when Pool Party became a permanent color this year. It's my favorite!
